Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 fell 0.2% to 3,628.33 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.5% to 29,906.96.

Nasdaq declined 0.4% to 12,088.20.

Crude oil rose 2% to $45.79 a barrel.

The price of gold increased by 0.2% to $1,807.70 an ounce.

The yield on a 10-year bond dropped 1.7% to 0.867%.


SERVICES

Emerald Holding Inc. (NYSE: EEX) dropped 10% to $4.71 and a $336 million market cap. Shares of the San Juan Capistrano-based provider of trade shows have still more than doubled since Nov. 6 on hopes for a coronavirus vaccine.

MEDICAL DEVICES

Lake Forest-based Staar Surgical Co. (Nasdaq: STAA) was off 5.6% to $69.36 and a $3.2 billion market cap. Shares of the implantable lens maker have still jumped three-fold since a 52-week low of $23.20 in March.
