Westminster’s Redevelopment Agency paid $18 million for a 37,000-square-foot auto dealership building at 15550 Beach Blvd. The agency paid $486.50 per square foot for the building. It bought the vacant building to lease to an Infiniti dealership that opened last month. El Camino GMC was based at the site before closing. Auto dealerships are coveted by cities for the sales tax they bring. The Infiniti dealership could bring in $300,000 in yearly sales tax for Westminster, according to city officials. The dealership building was put up in 1968 and sits on 6.4 acres of land. Mark Pressey and Ronald Beard of Southland Equities represented the seller, NW Investment Co. The city represented itself.
