Irvine-based Quality Systems Inc. said it bought Costa Mesa-based Mirth Corp.
Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
Quality makes software that dentists and doctors use to manage their practices.
Mirth makes technology that helps healthcare providers and institutions, such as nursing homes, hospitals and others, easily send data among themselves. It will continue to operate as part of Quality Systems. The company had a recent market value of about $1.3 billion.
Quality said in a news release that being able to share data “is critical to the next phase of healthcare reform and accountable care delivery.”
Quality shares were flat on news of the acquisition last week.
