New CFO for PacTrust

Irvine-based First PacTrust Bancorp Inc. has named three new executives for the company and its subsidiary PacTrust Bank.

First PacTrust tapped Ronald Nicolas as chief financial officer of the company and Lonny Robinson as the financial chief for the bank. The new CFOs will assume duties following the resignation of current CFO, Marangal Domingo, on Nov. 8, when the company is expected to file its third-quarter report with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

“As PacTrust Bank continues its transition from a thrift institution to a commercial bank, we are thrilled to enhance our financial group with experienced professionals,” said Chief Executive Steven Sugarman, who became CEO of the holding company in September.

The bank at that time named Robert Franko chief executive of the subsidiary PacTrust Bank.

Nicolas has been a consultant with First PacTrust since last month. He has served as executive vice president and CFO at a number of financial institutions, including Greenwich, Conn.-based Carrington Holding Co. LLC, and Residential Credit Holdings LLC in Fort Worth, Texas.

Robinson will join the bank next week. He was executive vice president and CFO at Los Angeles-based Hanmi Financial Corp. and its subsidiary Hanmi Bank.

First PacTrust also has named Craig Naselow treasurer and chief investment officer of both the bank and holding company.

Naselow served as treasurer and investment executive at Westlake Village-based Aris Development Co. prior to joining First PacTrust. He also has served as a consultant to San Francisco-based Union Bank N.A.

PacTrust Bank is among the largest commercial banks based in Orange County, most recently reporting assets of $1.12 billion as of June.
