The NASDAQ was flat at 5,818.20.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 1.2% to 2.42%.
The price of gold fell 0.1% to $1,240.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based Universal Electronics Inc. was up 8.2% to 71.35 and a $1 billion market cap. The strong gain came after the remote control maker after the close of trading Thursday reported adjusted profits that met Wall Street expectations.
Costa Mesa-based TTM Technologies Inc. was down 3.9% to 16.77 and a $1.7 billion market cap. Some 1.2 million shares of the nation’s largest printed circuit board maker traded hands today, slightly higher than half its average daily trading volume.
