Newport Beach-based accounting firm Anton & Chia LLP has entered into a joint venture with Morine & Co. Chartered Accountants LLP in Vancouver.
Anton & Chia specializes in audit and consulting work and had recent annual revenue of $8 million. It has about 40 employees in its Newport Beach headquarters and about 50 overall, including at offices in San Diego and Westlake Village.
It’s a reunion of sorts for Anton & Chia Managing Partner Gregory Wahl and George Morine, whose firm has 12 employees.
Wahl and Morine had worked together in the Vancouver office of KPMG.
Wahl said Anton & Chia recently added about $1 million worth of business that requires service in Canada.
The joint venture is expected to allow Anton & Chia to serve “both Canadian and U.S. companies in a seamless process,” Wahl said. “We’re looking at cross-border mergers and acquisitions, working with companies on the Toronto Stock Exchange and U.S. exchanges … This opens up lots of opportunities.”
Anton & Chia in September acquired W. Michael Corson & Co. in San Diego, following a deal in June to acquire Tignino & Lutz LLP in Westlake Village.
