First American Picks Gilyard

First American Financial Corp. in Santa Ana appointed Reginald “Reggie” Gilyard to its board of directors.

The addition of Gilyard expands First American’s board to nine members.

Gilyard will leave his post as dean of Chapman University’s Argyros School of Business and Economics at the end of the current academic term this month. He was previously a partner and managing director in the Los Angeles office of Boston Consulting Group, a $5 billion global management consulting company.

Gilyard also serves on the boards of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International, Pacific Charter School Development, and OCTANe, a technology and life sciences accelerator in OC.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics/operations research from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a master’s degree in computer systems from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
