Chapman Health Program Gets Big Gift

A Newport Beach real estate company owner and his wife donated $15 million to Chapman University’s health science campus in Irvine.

Harry Rinker, owner of the Rinker Co., a real estate investment and development company based in Costa Mesa, and his wife, Diane, have two grandchildren who recently graduated from Chapman, where the law school library is named for them.

Now the health science campus is also named after the couple.

The school will use the money for its health science graduate programs at the Irvine campus, including the pharmacy, physical therapy and physician assistant programs.

“Harry and Diane’s visionary generosity will make possible the education of future health scientists in Orange County,” said university President Jim Doti.
