Fieldstead and Co. in Irvine has given $330,000 to Chapman University to study OC’s political and social scene. Fieldstead is the family office of Howard and Roberta Ahmanson.
Howard is the son and an heir of the late founder of the former Home Savings & Loan, now part of Chase. He’s on the Business Journal’s OC 500.
The new Chapman University Orange County Annual Survey will look at conditions in OC by surveying its residents.
The gift brings the Ahmansons’ support of Chapman to about $520,000.
Their previous giving has backed public policy conferences organized by Chapman Professor Fred Smoller. A 2018 conference at Chapman in April under that program will examine housing and homelessness.
