Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.3% to 3,724.45 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.3% to 30,309.44.

The Nasdaq dropped 0.4% to 12,850.99.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond decreased 0.2% to 0.931%.

The price of gold was increased 0.2% to $1,884.20.

The price for a barrel of oil was up 0.7% to $47.95.

TECHNOLOGY

Shares in Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) in Newport Beach decreased 9.2% to $7.74 apiece for a market cap of $1.5 billion. “While the clean energy industry seemed to be quite resilient to the COVID-19 crisis, some policy related uncertainties in the near future might threaten this industry’s growth trajectory in 2021,” Zacks investment research reported earlier today. The shares have still tripled since Nov. 6.

HEALTHCARE

Lake Forest-based implantable lens maker STAAR Surgical Company (Nasdaq: STAA) dropped 4.6% to $76.88 apiece for a market cap of $3.5 billion. Simplywallst.com reported yesterday that “the last three months saw significant insider selling at STAAR Surgical.”
