Rocket Lab Corp., a rapidly growing company that sends diverse payloads into space, said it has successfully launched the STP-S30 mission for the U.S. Space Force’s Space Systems Command – completing the launch five months ahead of schedule.
The launch, named ‘Don’t Be Such A Square’, lifted off from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 2 at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport on Wallops Island, Virginia yesterday, Long Beach-based Rocket Lab said in a statement.
The mission helps “ensure U.S. superiority in space,” according to the statement.
Rocket Lab (Nasdaq: RKLB), which moved its headquarters from Huntington Beach in 2020, has become a major player in the new space race, rivaling companies such as Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
