Irvine-based FirstElement Fuel Inc., which develops and builds hydrogen fueling stations for motor vehicles, has received a $7.7 million California state grant.
The funds from the California Energy Commission will help increase the company’s Santa Ana manufacturing facility output by more than 10 times, First Element said in a statement today.
FEF specializes in hydrogen refueling systems, and operates a network of hydrogen refueling stations made up of 85 dispensers across 40 station locations and serving hydrogen-powered vehicles across California.
FEF’s manufacturing facility in Santa Ana currently produces critical high tech components and systems for hydrogen refueling stations, including liquid hydrogen cryopump systems.
