Construction

Sukut Construction, one of the nation’s leaders in heavy civil construction, is proud to announce the promotions of Matt Williams to vice president of Northern California operations and Ryan Fouse to vice president, Sukut Equipment. These appointments reflect the company’s continued investment in building strong leadership within its operations and fleet management teams, ensuring strategic growth and continued excellence in service delivery across all markets.

Matt Williams began his career with Sukut in 2012 as an intern in the take-off department. His work ethic and technical aptitude quickly set him apart, leading to a move into field operations as a field engineer. From there, he advanced through several project roles, including project engineer and project manager, before taking on the role of Northern California area manager. With more than a decade of experience in the heavy civil sector, Williams has developed a reputation for leading with collaboration, clarity, and a strong understanding of regional construction dynamics.

In his new role as vice president, Williams is responsible for overseeing Sukut’s business development and field operations throughout Northern California. He plays a central role in identifying new opportunities, strengthening client partnerships, and mentoring field teams. Matt’s leadership is instrumental in shaping Sukut’s long-term strategy in the region, particularly in both the public infrastructure and private development sectors. When away from work, Williams enjoys mountain biking, hiking, and camping with his wife, young daughter, and their two dogs.

Ryan Fouse has been with Sukut since 2005, when he joined the company as an apprentice mechanic. Starting at one of the most foundational levels of the organization, he gained hands-on experience with the equipment that drives Sukut’s large-scale construction projects. His technical skills, curiosity, and problem-solving ability helped him grow through key roles, including GPS mechanic, emissions compliance lead, equipment manager, and general manager.

Today, Fouse serves as vice president of Sukut Equipment, overseeing one of Southern California’s largest earthmoving fleets. His responsibilities span the full lifecycle of Sukut Equipment operations, including the acquisition, maintenance, and deployment of hundreds of Caterpillar machines, including scrapers, bulldozers, excavators, and more. His leadership ensures that Sukut’s fleet remains reliable, efficient, and aligned with environmental regulations across its projects. Fouse also plays an active role in industry organizations focused on equipment standards and air quality improvement. Outside of work, he enjoys off-roading, camping, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and son.

The promotions of Matt Williams and Ryan Fouse exemplify Sukut’s dedication to fostering talent and advancing individuals from within. Both leaders began their careers in entry-level roles and have steadily advanced to executive leadership through hard work, innovation, and a commitment to the company’s mission. Now, with both in key leadership roles, Sukut is well-positioned to continue its geographical growth, deliver critical infrastructure, and support the development of future industry leaders.
