On the Move: OCCF’s New Leadership Model Builds a Strong Foundation for the Future

The Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF), one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing community foundations, will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2024, commemorating three and a half decades of amplifying the impact of charitable giving in Orange County, across the country and around the world.

To ensure that OCCF continues to build a strong foundation for the future, key leadership roles have been restructured to leverage the unique skills and experiences of each of OCCF’s senior leaders. Effective January 1, 2024, OCCF’s executive team will be organized as follows:

Shelley Hoss, CEO

Shelley Hoss will remain the organization’s Chief Executive Officer. She will focus on supporting OCCF’s board, key partners and donors, and community leaders to amplify philanthropic impact in Orange County and beyond.

 

 

Tammy Tumbling, President

Tammy Tumbling, who brought over 20 years of leadership experience when she joined the Foundation as executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2019, has been promoted to President to lead organization-wide operations to ensure that OCCF excels in achieving its strategic vision and goals.

 

 

Cathleen Otero, COO

Cathleen Otero, with 10 years of stellar leadership at OCCF, will succeed Tumbling as Chief Operating Officer to continue to elevate OCCF’s donor and community engagement platform and provide leadership to the Foundation’s ongoing innovation and technology transformation.

 

Tracy Branson, OCCF’s Chief Financial Officer of more than 33 years, will remain in her role providing exemplaryleadership of the Foundation’s finance, accounting, audit and investment functions.

Distinguished among its peers in both growth and impact, the Foundation ranks in the top 1% in grantmaking and top 7% in asset size among nearly 800 U.S. community foundations, stewards more than $600 million in charitable assets through 640 funds benefiting a wide range of causes, and has led critical initiatives to build a stronger, healthier, more vibrant Orange County for all.

Orange County’s diverse and growing population of more than 3.1 million residents reflects a thriving community of entrepreneurs, innovators and first-generation wealth creators.
