On the Move: Chapman University Appoints Harold Hewitt to the California Educational Facilities Authority

Chapman University is pleased to announce that Harold Hewitt has been appointed by Gov. Gavin Newsom to the California Educational Facilities Authority (CEFA). CEFA issues bonds that support the construction and expansion of educational facilities at private non-profit colleges and universities.

Hewitt has served as Chapman’s executive vice president and chief operating officer since 2008. Prior to his tenure at Chapman, he served as vice president and chief financial officer of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association and vice president for administration and finance at Occidental College. He also worked in financial management and planning at Whittier College and Claremont University Center.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Hewitt serves as treasurer and a trustee of the Lingnan Foundation and is past president of the Western Association of College and University Business Officers.

He earned his MBA from Claremont Graduate University and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Cornell College.
