Stocks rose today in anticipation of a Federal Reserve decision and press conference.Â
The S&P; 500 climbed 1% to 4,396.51 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 1.1% to 34,303.06 and the Nasdaq was up 0.8% to 14,863.51.
Crude oil rose 2.1% to $71.94.
Gold was up 0.1% to $1,780.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury dropped 0.83% to 1.313%.
RETAIL
Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) climbed 4% to $94.14 and a $2.8 billion market cap. Wasatch Global Investors, in a recent newsletter to its investors, praised the Irvine-based retail chain, saying its “private-label brands, built around well-known personalities in the music business, have enabled the company to convert higher portions of its sales revenues into bottom-line profits.”
Xponential Fitness Inc. (NYSE: XPOF) jumped 9.2% to $11.29 and a $536 million market cap. Raymond James today upgraded the shares of the Irvine-based fitness franchisor to a “strong buy” with a $14 price target.
