A 15,000-square-foot Crystal Cove home recently traded for $25.1 million, the top home sale in OC so far this year.

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom bluff-top estate at 3619 Ocean Blvd. has five stories of ocean views.
It was designed by Newport Beach-based Brion Jeannette Architecture, which is also the architect for Aerie (see story, this page).
The home, just off Inspiration Point, has an elevator, cabana with a fire pit, jacuzzi tub, and private beach with water access, “the only home in the cove to boast this amenity,” according to the listing.
Compass’ Kim Walker had the listing; Meital Taub Luxury Group represented the buyer.
The seller was a trust affiliated with billionaire Larry Van Tuyl, according to property records. Van Tuyl, who owned one of the largest privately held car dealerships in the country before selling the business to Berkshire Hathaway in 2014, bought the property in 2007, before the financial crisis, for $18.2 million.
Eight homes priced above $8 million sold in Orange County last month, with sales volume totaling north of $100 million, according to Zillow.
