Markets rallied in midday trading after last week’s declines with major indexes rising about 1% apiece.
The S&P 500 was at 2,872.15; the Dow Jones Industrial Average at 25,857.57; the Nasdaq at 7,832.44.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond ticked up 0.1% to 1.53%.
The price of gold was flat at $1,538 an ounce.
The price of oil was down 0.5% to $53.89 a barrel.
RESTAURANTS
Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. (NYSE: CMG) in Newport Beach rose 2% to $822.61 and a $22.8 billion market cap. Shares in the fast casual chain are up 87% year-to-date.
RETAIL
Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) in Irvine rose 3.5% to $32.28 and a $919 million market cap, Shares in the Western apparel seller have risen 85% year-to-date.
