REAL Trends America’s Best Real Estate Agents, a newly issued ranking report produced by REAL Trends and sponsored by Zillow Group, has released the rankings of the top-producing real estate agents and teams in the country. Orange County boasts three luxury real estate teams in the top 10.
The Stanfield Real Estate Team of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty earned the third-place spot with nearly $490 million in closed transactions last year. The Tim Smith Group of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage came in fifth with more than $367 million in closed transactions. McKown Weinstein Associates of Surterre Properties Inc. rounded out the top 10 at 10th place with $245 million in closed transactions.
REAL Trends America’s Best Real Estate Agents ranks over 12,600 residential real estate professionals based on their real estate sales during the year. Production numbers are independently verified by a third-party in order to ensure accuracy and report integrity.
“This group of highly successful real estate sales agents represents less than 1 percent of all real estate practitioners in the United States,” says Steve Murray, publisher of REAL Trends America’s Best Real Estate Agents and president of REAL Trends.
To qualify for inclusion, a real estate agent team must have a minimum of $30 million in closed sales volume. Teams ranked in America’s Best Real Estate Agents had an average sales volume of almost $61 million.
Old-World Elegance
42 Deep Sea is situated behind the gates of the Newport Coast enclave of Crystal Cove on a half-acre lot that boasts panoramic ocean views. It sold on Aug. 7 for $21 million.
The estate, which blends old-world style design with the most up-to-date appointments, was designed by a collaboration between architect David Hohmann, builder Dugally Oberfeld, and designer Errol de Jager.
The mansion spans 12,780 square feet and encompasses six bedrooms, 10 baths, a great room, chef’s kitchen with butler’s pantry and breakfast nook, library with adjacent lounge and bar, and home office. The subterranean level offers an air-conditioned, nine-vehicle showroom-style garage with turntable parking, a media lounge with bar, wine tasting and storage room, glass-enclosed showroom putting green, billiards room and fitness center with massage studio and wellness spa.
The sale was represented by Tim Smith of the Smith Group, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage on the seller’s side and Steve High of Villa Real Estate on the buyer’s. It was listed in February for $24 million.
Perfect Opportunity
Occupying a blufftop-view location in Corona del Mar, the property at 2001 Bayadere Terrace is sited on a .29-acre lot at the intersection of two view axes, one across the harbor to the channel entrance, the other across the main channel to the Balboa Pavilion and beyond.
The home was listed in October for $8 million and sold on Aug. 2 for $7.5 million.
Ideal for redevelopment, the large and wide parcel, with 80 feet of frontage, is well-suited to a new, two-level structure complemented by expansive seaside gardens, all taking in the views. It’s also only steps away from Mother’s Beach. In its current state, the 4,124-square-foot home offers three and ¼ baths and four bedrooms.
Gordon Henry of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer and seller in the transaction.
Brand-New Beach House
The newly completed beachfront home at 4505 Seashore Drive in Newport Beach is situated on one of the largest lots on the sand—2,570 square feet. The four-bedroom, seven-bath home sold on Aug. 8 for $7.25 million. It was listed in June for $7.5 million.
Its 3,632-square-foot floor plan features opening glass walls on all three levels of the home that frame the sand and white-water views. Multiple decks allow for outdoor living on every level.
The Cape Cod-inspired home’s sale was handled by Amen Wardy of Realty Source for the seller and John Cain of HOM Sotheby’s International working on behalf of the buyer.
