The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat at 19,886.83.
The NASDAQ was up 0.6% to 5,580.28.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 1.5% to 2.39.
The price of gold fell 0.3% to $1,199.20.

Anaheim-based Willdan Group Inc. was up 4.7% to $28.07 and a $233.7 million market cap. Shares in the engineering services company are up 25% for the week after it won a $75 million base contract to improve energy efficiency in New York City and Westchester County, N.Y., and added three executives in business development, human resources and regulatory policy as part of its growth.
Santa Ana-based Iteris Inc. was up 3.4% to $4.58 and a $147 million market cap on high volume. The firm makes sensors and software to manage traffic systems.
