Skate brand etnies and Michelin today introduced “the toughest outsoles in history” for its Marana OG skate shoe.
Etnies is part of Lake Forest-based apparel and footwear company Sole Technology Inc.
The new shoe improves the lifespan of the shoe and “balance(s) the durability of the upper (part of the shoe) with the outsole,” Sole Vice President of Global Sales James Appleby said in a statement.
Italy-based JV International, which licenses Michelin rubber for shoe soles, said the durability doesn’t inhibit performance.
Sole Technology makes action sports footwear and apparel under five brands and has about $120 million in annual revenue.
