More attorneys and a law firm have been recognized as being outstanding in their practice area.
Evan Borges, a partner at trial law boutique Greenberg Gross LLP in Costa Mesa has been named “Lawyer of the Year” in Orange County for bankruptcy litigation.
Dean Zipser of Irvine-based business litigation boutique law firm Umberg Zipser LLP earned the same distinction for litigation—intellectual property.
And, Costa Mesa-based Smiley Wang-Ekvall LLP Founding Partner Evan Smiley was awarded “Lawyer of the Year” in bankruptcy and creditor-debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization law.
The firm also earned recognition in a joint effort of U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers to rank more than 12,000 firms in the U.S. in the 2017 Edition of Best Law Firms. Smiley Wang-Ekvall LLP, which works in bankruptcy and insolvency matters, real estate transactions, and business litigation, was awarded a Tier One ranking for the practice area of bankruptcy and creditor-debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization law.
Best Lawyers touts itself as “the oldest and most highly-respected peer review guide to the legal profession worldwide.” The “Lawyer of the Year” designation is a special honor, conferred on only one lawyer per region in each practice area.
