Irvine-based data management software maker Vision Solutions Inc. has been sold to private equity firm Clearlake Capital Group L.P. in Santa Monica.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
More than 12,000 customers in 70 countries use Vision Solutions’ software, which is designed to back up data and keeps servers running during maintenance or in the case of a disaster.
The company, which employs an estimated 100 workers in OC, recently was listed in “Troubled Company Prospector,” which identifies U.S. and Canadian businesses showing early signs of strain or difficulty. The red flag followed some poor grades from major credit agencies on secured and first-lien loans.
Clearlake Capital has invested more than $3 billion in 70 deals.
