Anaheim-based engineering consultant Willdan Group Inc. plans to acquire Pelham, N.Y.-based Genesys Engineering PC on undisclosed terms in a deal expected to close this month.
Genesys had revenue of about $30 million in 2015 and is a mechanical and electrical consulting and engineering firm to universities, hospitals, and utilities.
Willdan Group earned about $6 million on revenue of about $134 million in its trailing 12 months. It’s expected to report full-year 2015 earnings at the end of March.
Willdan expects the acquisition of Genesys to be accretive to 2016 earnings.
Its shares closed up 7% Tuesday to a $66.5 million market cap.
