Incipio Buys Bag and Case Maker

Incipio Technologies Inc. in Irvine acquired Chino-based Incase Designs Corp., a maker of bags and accessories for Apple products, on undisclosed terms.

“Incase has continued to maintain a strong position within the market, and by doing so they’ve been able to create a cult-following of loyal brand advocates,” said Incipio Chief Executive Andy Fathollahi, citing its “exceptional products and impeccable curation.”

Incase will continue as a stand-alone brand. Some of its 80 employees will move to Incipio’s Irvine office.

Incipio secured $55 million in financing from Monroe Capital LLC in January to provide “increased flexibility as we continue to grow, both organically and through acquisitions,” Fathollahi said in an earlier statement.

This is the second acquisition since the funding and fourth overall for the mobile device accessories designer and manufacturer. It bought ClamCase LLC, a Michigan-based designer and manufacturer of keyboard cases for iPads, in June; speakers specialist Braven LC in 2013; and Tavik Industries LLC in 2012,
