Costa Mesa networking equipment maker Emulex Corp. was up about 2% to $7.33 for a market value of $592.42 million. D.A. Davidson & Co. initiated coverage on Emulex with a “buy” rating.

Newport Beach-based patent licensor Acacia Research Corp. was up about 3% to $15.10 for a market value of $764.66 million.
HEALTHCARE
Aliso Viejo-based drug maker Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc. was off about 4% to $3.80 for a market value of $578.72 million.
