Pacific Western National Bank last week moved its headquarters from Pico Rivera to Brea.
PWNB’s primary lending operations have been in construction lending. The bank’s construction loan portfolio went from $16.2 million at the end of 1998 to $29.5 million last month.
The bank opened a temporary office in Brea last year “to capitalize on some of the opportunities in North OC,” said bank executive VP and COO Chris Blake. The bank then moved the headquarters last Monday. “We saw some growth out here, in manufacturing and construction.”
“Pico Rivera remains our key office,” said Blake.
The bank was founded in Pico Rivera and the bank’s Chairman, Bea Proo, is a Pico Rivera councilwoman and the city’s former mayor.
The bank has locations in Downey, Pico Rivera and West Covina. It is looking at Anaheim and Fullerton for possible branches.
“There are a lot of new businesses moving in this area,” Blake said.
