Foothill Ranch-based Oakley Inc. and Motorola Inc. said Friday they’re working on combining wireless technology and sunglasses.
Oakley, which last year debuted sunglasses that have a digital music player embedded inside, said the partnership is working on glasses that use Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola’s Bluetooth technology.
Bluetooth is used to link computers, cell phones, personal digital assistants and other devices to each other without wires.
More details and designs of the glasses are set to be unveiled by mid-year. Terms of the partnership weren’t released.
Shares of Oakley were up 5% to $12.3 in afternoon trading Friday.
