Anduril Industries said today that it has been named a preferred edge provider for Amazon Web Services’ national security and defense customers, expanding a partnership aimed at bringing cloud computing capabilities to military operations in challenging environments.
The companies unveiled Menace-I with AWS Outposts, a deployable data center that extends native AWS compute, storage and networking services into “contested environments.”
The system can be transported by truck, rail, aircraft or helicopter and assembled by two people in less than 10 minutes, according to the companies.
Anduril said modern warfare requires resilient computing that can function even when communications are disrupted.
“Winning in that environment requires infrastructure that operates when everything else fails,” the company said.
