Wave Neuroscience Says PTSD System Cleared by FDA

Newport Beach firm says MeRT system is "personalized biomarker guided neuromodulation technology"

Newport Beach-based Wave Neuroscience, a neuromodulation technology provider, said its MeRT System was cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Magnetic EEG-guided Resonance Therapy, or MeRT, is the first personalized, biomarker-guided neuromodulation technology to receive FDA clearance for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), according to the company. It uses a patient’s brain data to inform personalized treatments with legally marketed devices to treat PTSD.

“FDA clearance for PTSD validates the scientific foundation of our platform and reinforces the growing importance of data-driven, individualized approaches to treating complex neuropsychiatric conditions,” Chief Executive Fred Walke said in a June 11 statement.

Wave Neuroscience is in a partnership with the Texas A&M Health Institute of Biosciences and Technology.
