Buy.com inks a deal with AT & T; Wireless

Buy.com last week announced an alliance that enables more than 300,000 AT & T; Wireless customers with Internet-ready phones to shop on buy.com, including performing product searches, viewing orders and comparing prices, all by using AT & T;’s Digital PocketNet service.

To access buy.com, customers can use pre-installed “shopping channels” off the standard AT & T Web site homepage or the new AT & T; Surf Lounge homepage.

At the initial rollout, buy.com’s Wireless site included many products available at buy.com, including computers, software, electronics, music and videos.

“As we segue into the holiday season, it is our priority to provide our more than 3 million customers with a hassle-free way to shop,” said Greg Hawkins, buy.com CEO and chairman, in a press release. “Wireless is clearly the way to go.”

As a special promotion, the Web site is offering free shipping in November for every wireless order from the music, videos, games and books categories.
