Allen, Haight & Monaghan LLP in Irvine named Jay W. Donovan and Mark C. Tackmann to partners. Donovan joined the firm in November 2000 as a tax manager. Tackmann started in January 2004 as an audit manager.

Jennifer Turner was appointed senior account manager at Placentia-based exhibit maker MDS Exhibits, overseeing administrative management for its sales and operations. Turner brings 11 years of experience in event marketing.
AEROSPACE
Carl Moffitt was appointed vice president and general manager of Parker Aero-space’s control systems division in Irvine, part of Cleveland’s Parker Hannifin Corp. He is set to oversee all financial and operational aspects of the division for both the Irvine and Arizona facilities.
ARCHITECTURE
Architecture firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo Inc. promoted Bill Nord to director; Bryan Algeo and Henry Wu to senior associates; and Sam Chen, Yu Hong and Francik Khalili to associates at its Newport Beach office.
BANKING
The Independent Bankers Bank named Gale Fossatti senior vice president for California and West Coast at the Huntington Beach office. Independent Bankers Bank provides services to independent community financial institutions. Fossatti has more than 28 years of experience in commercial real estate, loan generation, underwriting and portfolio management.
Newport Beach-based bond manager Pacific Investment Management Co. named Lew W. Jacobs, Thomas J. Otterbein, Emanuele Ravano and Makoto Takano as managing directors.
EDUCATION
Santa Ana-based Corinthian Colleges Inc. named marketing and operations veteran Peter Waller as president and chief operating officer. Waller is responsible for Corinthian’s operations across five divisions in the U.S. and Canada. Most recently, he served as an executive partner at ThreeSixty Sourcing Inc. in Foothill Ranch. Before that, Waller was president of Irvine-based Taco Bell Corp.
Rick Pullen, dean of California State University, Fullerton’s College of Communications, was elected vice president of the California First Amendment Coalition. Pullen is expected to become president in 2008, after a two-year term as vice president.
FINANCE
Thomas M. Giddings was named managing director of wealth management company U.S. Trust Corp., a unit of Charles Schwab Corp., at its Costa Mesa office. Giddings is set to head the local office, including expanding operations and growing its business in OC and San Diego. He joined U.S. Trust in 1993.
Costa Mesa-based investment bank RSM EquiCo promoted Mark Agosto to senior vice president of its broker-dealer unit, RSM EquiCo Capital Mar-kets. He previously was vice president. Agosto is set to lead his team in mergers and acquisitions for clients in the aerospace and defense industries.
HEALTHCARE
Hal Andrews joined Irvine-based Cogent Healthcare Inc. as senior vice president of corporate development at its Nashville, Tenn., office. Andrews’ responsibilities will include overseeing strategic relationships and new product development.
INSURANCE
Countrywide Insurance Services, part of Countrywide Insurance Group, added the following people as vice presidents in commercial lines and employee benefits at its Irvine headquarters: Glenn Roman, Karla D. Williams and Ken Salazar.
LAW
Snell & Wilmer LLP added Brian A. Gabel, Naveen Gurudevan and Ehab M. Samuel to its OC office. Gabel’s specialty is product liability litigation. Gurudevan’s focus is on business and finance, while Samuel’s practices in the intellectual property law and technology area, particularly patent litigation and procurement.
Higham, McConnell, & Dunning LLP in Aliso Viejo added W. Andrew Moore as special counsel. Moore’s specialty is tax, corporate and general business law.
Adam R. Salis joined Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP as counsel at its Costa Mesa office.
San Franciso-based Morrison and Foerster LLP elected Steven M. Zadravecz as partner at its Irvine office. Zadravecz practices employment law.
Karl A. Matthews joined Foothill Ranch-based law firm Shulman Hodges & Bastian LLP as senior counsel of the business organizations, transactions and estate planning practices. He was most recently director of tax research and planning at Fluor Corp. John Mark Jennings was named partner and is set to continue to focus his practice on litigation and bankruptcy litigation matters. Philippe Melin, formerly a law clerk, was promoted to associate.
NONPROFIT
Donald L. Vodra, chief operating officer of Rancho Mission Viejo LLC, was elected chairman of Laura’s House, a group that works to prevent and reduce domestic and family violence through shelter and support programs and education.
Veteran nonprofit professional Steve Harrington was appointed chief executive of Santa Ana-based Operation Homefront, which assists families of those in the military. Harrington previously worked as director of the National Taco Bell Foundation and was vice president at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Costa Mesa-based M4Strategies and Jury Impact, its public policy and public affairs unit, added Claire Luna. She will help in research and message strategy development. Luna formerly was a reporter for the Los Angeles Times.
REAL ESTATE
Brea-based Resmae Mortgage Corp. hired Jeffrey Thompson as regional vice president for the company’s Northeast territory. Thompson’s responsibilities will include continuing development of an outside sales team, in addition to an internal sales team as part of Resmae’s expansion plans.
Amanda Phipps rejoined Irvine-based association management company Key-stone Pacific Property Management Inc. as insurance coordinator. Keystone also promoted Steve Koerner to residential property manager from escrow clerk at its Irvine office. Koerner will oversee the new residential management service division, including leasing.
Newport Beach-based Platinum Prop-erties Investor Network, a real estate brokerage, promoted John Burdick to client manager. Marcus Meleton joined the company as area manager for Dallas, Houston and parts of Mississippi. Karam Jivani also was named area manager for Alabama, the Carolinas and several areas in Texas.
Agoura Hills-based Amcal Multi-Housing Inc., an affordable housing builder, hired Mario Turner as director of development, Orange County. Turner previously worked as a housing development administrator for Orange County.
TECHNOLOGY
Orange-based Internet filtering and reporting products company 8e6 Technologies hired Gary Ulaner as director of product management to lead the expansion of the company’s product line. Ulaner previously was with Symantec Corp. as a group product manager.
Networking gear maker DDi Corp. of Anaheim added Michael Mathews as vice president of quality and process engineering. Mathews most recently was vice president for Sanmina-SCI Corp.
TOURISM
The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau promoted Mindy Abel, former convention sales director, to vice president of meeting sales to oversee a new segment of the convention sales department. Abel’s team will be handling lead development and booking of small to midsize conventions and meetings in OC.
