San Clemente-based VertiFlex Inc. has raised $26.8 million out of a proposed $45.7 million in funding, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Chevy Chase, Md.-based New Enterprise Associates is leading the funding, according to a report by industry newsletter Fierce Medical Devices.

VertiFlex has raised $93 million—about $69 million in equity and $24 million in debt—in nine funding rounds since 2007.
