Bryant Francis has resigned as Long Beach Airport director to take a similar role at Oakland International Airport, a news report said.
It re-opens a slot that’s only been filled for 14 months and will lead to another change in local airport leadership.
Francis took the Long Beach helm in January 2015 after three years as director of airports in Shreveport, La.
The Oakland position—part of the Port of Oakland—became vacant in June 2015 when Deborah Ale Flint, who held the post for five years, was named executive director at Los Angeles World Airports, which operates LAX, Ontario International Airport and Van Nuys Airport.
Ontario International shifts to local control this year and the Ontario International Airport Authority recently hired Kelly Fredericks from Rhode Island Airport Corp. as its first chief executive; he’s expected to start work in March.
John Wayne Airport named current director, Barry Rondinella, in November, to lead the airport on a one-year term; he had been an executive at LAWA prior to his hiring.
