The S&P 500 was up 0.39% to 1,435.
The yield on a 10-year treasury bond rose 0.42% to 1.69%.
The price of gold was up 0.25% to $1,736 per ounce.
Shares of Tustin-based Peregrine Pharmaceuticals Inc. were down about 8% to $4 for a recent market value of $411 million. Peregrine’s shares jumped about 50% last week after the drug developer released results on its cancer drug bavituximab.
Irvine-based Impac Mortgage Holdings Inc. was up about 11% to $8 for a recent market value of $64 million.
