KPC Global, a Riverside company whose founder is the majority owner of Santa Ana-based Integrated Healthcare Holdings Inc., has bought a Victorville hospital out of bankruptcy.
Victor Valley Community Hospital had been looking for a buyer since it filed for bankruptcy protection in 2010. KPC agreed to invest $25 million over the next five years to improve Victor Valley and will turn it into a for-profit operation.
St. Mary Medical Center, which is owned by Orange-based St. Joseph Health, had made a bid for Victor Valley earlier this year.
KPC’s founder, physician Kali P. Chaudhuri, became the majority owner of Integrated in 2007. Integrated owns Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, Western Medical Center-Anaheim, Chapman Medical Center in Orange and Santa Ana’s Coastal Communities Hospital.
