RealtyTrac Inc., an online provider of foreclosure data, has promoted Jamie Moyle to the chief executive role at the Irvine-based company.

Moyle joined the company earlier this year after a Homefacts, a company he founded, was acquired by RealtyTrac. He had been serving as president and chief operating officer.

He takes over the CEO position from Brandon Moore, who joined RealtyTrac last year. Moore will serve as a consultant to the company’s board.

RealtyTrac’s monthly reports are cited prominently by the country's biggest media outlets, and its data on more than 1.5 million distressed homes is used by individuals and investors looking to find bank-owned homes on the cheap.

Moyle said new enhancements to the company’s website should be unveiled in a few months.
