Aliso Viejo eye device maker WaveTec Vision Systems Inc. said Wednesday that it received $15.7 million in a funding round.
WaveTec did not disclose investors or what it planned to do with the proceeds.
The company’s devices are used in surgeries that replace cataracts with intraocular lenses. The devices can be mounted directly on surgical microscopes.
Past WaveTec investors have included Versant Venture Management LLC, a venture capital firm with an office in Newport Beach. WaveTec was established in 1997 and operated on angel funding until Versant made its first investment into the company in 2005.
