Huntington Beach-based action sports apparel maker Quiksilver Inc. said Bernd Beetz joined its board of directors Tuesday.
Beetz is chair of Irvine-based high end knitwear maker St. John Knits Inc. and is the former head of beauty products maker Coty Inc.
His resume also includes stints as president and chief executive of the House of Christian Dior along with more than 20 years as an executive at Procter and Gamble.
“Bernd brings a strong brand marketing background, combined with exceptional strategic and operational expertise, especially in the areas of acquisitions and licensing,” Quiksilver Chief Executive Andy Mooney said in a statement. “His global perspective and deep experience with some of the most recognized and respected consumer products companies in the world will be enormously helpful as we continue to strengthen and broaden our three flagship brands.”
