Indices were up in midday training on strength in the finance and energy sectors.
The S&P 500 was up 1.2% to 1,851.69. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 1.3% to 15,869. The NASDAQ was up 1% to 4,315.82.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was up 5.6% to 1.74%.
The price of gold was down 0.8% to $1,238.
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Ingram Micro was up about 2% to $27.75. The technology products and services provider said it would buy a company that serves nine countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
