Orange County homebuilders declined on reports of a division over the direction of U.S. monetary policy at the Federal Reserve Board, and whether that group would raise interest rates before the end of the year.
Irvine-based CalAtlantic Group was down 2.2% to $40.40 and a $5 billion market cap. Irvine-based Tri Pointe Group Inc. was down 1.2% to $13.79 and a $2.3 billion market cap. Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was down 4.3% to $21.96 and a $722 million market cap. Aliso Viejo-based New Home Co. Inc. was down 1.8% to $13.49 and a $227 million market cap.
TECHNOLOGY
Aliso Viejo-based Microsemi Corp. was up 3% to $35.61 and a $3.4 billion market cap. Analysts at Mizuho Securities initiated coverage on the semiconductor maker’s shares with a “buy” rating and a $42 price target.
