Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 rose 0.09% to 1,898.28 in afternoon trading Tuesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.13% to 16,716.91, while the Nasdaq was up down 0.16% to 4,137.08.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 1.66% to 2.61%.

The price of gold slipped 0.05% to $1,295.20 per ounce.

HEALTHCARE

Masimo Corp. was off about 3% to $23.09, after closing up 6% on Monday when the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it is cooperating with a federal investigation and had received a grand jury subpoena on documents related to two of its patient monitors. Masimo had a recent market value of $1.31 billion.


EDUCATION

Santa Ana-based for-profit school operator Corinthian Colleges Inc. shares jumped about 21% to $1.10 for a market value of $96.41 million. Corinthian said Monday it reached an agreement with lenders on a waiver for certain loan covenants.
