The price of gold was up 0.48% to $1,309.10 per ounce.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine medical device maker Masimo Corp. fell about 2% to $23.17 for a market value of $1.31 billion. The company’s shares have fallen about 10% since it reported first-quarter results Wednesday.
MANUFACTURING
Newport Beach specialty chemicals maker American Vanguard Corp. shares bounced back about 4% to $16.05 after closing down about 8%. The company reported a slump in first-quarter revenue and earnings on Thursday. It had a recent market value of $461.28 million.
