The S&P 500 rose 0.18% to 1,868.97 in afternoon trading Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.21% to 16,402.79, while the Nasdaq was off 0.29% to 4,222.05.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 0.33% to 2.73%.
The price of gold fell 0.66% to $1,302.80 per ounce.
HEALTHCARE
Newport Beach medical imaging provider Alliance Healthcare Services Inc. was up about 9% to $34.90 for a market value of $364.74 million. The company’s stock is up about 22% so far this year.
REAL ESTATE
Newport Beach-based homebuilder William Lyon Homes was off about 3.5% to $27.59 for a market value of $859.76 million. The company said Tuesday it is looking to raise $150 million through the offering of senior notes, with the funds expected to be used for more land buys. The company also announced in a separate announcement on Tuesday a secondary offering through New York private equity firm Luxor Capital Group LP of 2 million shares.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based Identive Group Inc. was up about 12% on high volume to $1.06 for a market value of $78.73 million. The company was trading about 12 times its average volume. Identive makes scanners, readers, cards and other devices used for security on buildings and networks among other uses.
