The S&P 500 was up 0.06% to 1,873.28 in afternoon trading Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.04% to 16,342.78, while the Nasdaq was down 0.05% to 4,331.16.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.90% to 2.70%.
The price of gold fell 1.37% to $1,340.40 per ounce.
RETAIL
Anaheim-based retailer Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. rose about 6% to $3.17 for a market value of $217.42 million. Pacific Sunwear reported after market close Tuesday better-than-expected results for the quarter ended Feb. 1.
Irvine-based retailer Tilly’s Inc. was up about 2% to $12.40. The company is expected to release results for its fourth quarter and full year after market close today. Tilly’s had a recent market value of $347.23 million.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based heart valve maker Edwards Lifesciences Corp. was up about 2% to $74.14 for a market value of $7.95 billion.
