The S&P 500 was up 0.29% to 1,835.21 in afternoon trading Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.53% to 16,112.84, while the Nasdaq was down 0.06% to 4,238.27.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.18% to 2.74%.
The price of gold was up 1.47% to $1,319.20 per ounce.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based Ingram Micro Inc. jumped 12% to $29.07, a day after reporting fourth-quarter revenue and adjusted profits that beat consensus estimates. The company also announced a restructuring to be rolled out in the first half of the year. Ingram, which distributes computers and other technology products, had a recent market value of $4.48 billion.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based medical device maker Masimo Corp. slipped 4% to $27.92, after reporting disappointing fourth-quarter results. The company had a recent market value of $1.58 billion.
Mission Viejo-based nursing home operator Ensign Group Inc. fell about 4% to $38.67, a day after reporting fourth-quarter results that missed analyst estimates on revenue and profit. The company had a recent market value of $850.89 million.
REAL ESTATE
Newport Beach-based William Lyon Homes was up about 5% to $28.80 for a market value of $905.82 million. The homebuilder reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter results on Friday.
