Crude oil was down 0.3% to $41.18.
Gold was up 1.8% to $1,931.80 an ounce.
The yield on a 10-year bond inched up 0.8% to 0.59%.

Pacific Premier Bancorp Inc. (NASDAQ: PPBI) in Irvine fell 3.6% to $20.33 and a $1.9 billion market cap after the company reported a second quarter loss of $99.1 million, or $1.41 per share, below analyst expectations. Shares are off 35% in the past year.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine-based medical device company Axonics Modulation Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: AXNX) increased 3.1% to $40.34 and a $1.6 billion market cap. The company announced positive results Monday from a two-year study of its r-SNM System, which treats urinary and bowel dysfunction.
