U.S. stock indexes increased after the June employment report showed the economy adding more jobs than expected.
The S&P 500 was up 1% to 3,146.45 at midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average also increased by 0.91% to 25,968.85.
Nasdaq rose 1.17% to 10,273.95.
Crude oil climbed 1.23% to $40.31.
Gold increased 0.5% to 1,789 an ounce.
The yield on a 10-year bond was down 1.6% to 0.67.
TECHNOLOGY
Santa Ana-based TTM Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq: TTMI) increased 7.11% to $12.13 a share with a $1.2 billion market cap. Needham upgraded TTM Technologies, a maker of printed circuit boards, from hold to buy.
RETAIL
Tilly’s Inc. (Nasdaq: TLYS) rose 5.98% to $5.49 at midday trading with a $163.49 million market cap. Shares of the Irvine-based chain of retail stores are still down about 55% since the start of the year.
