Major U.S. stock markets regained much of the ground lost Monday, when shares dropped the most since October on fears of the spread of the deadly coronavirus from China.
The S&P 500 was up 1.2% to 3,281.66 during midday trading.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.9% to 28,781.37.
The Nasdaq climbed 1.4% to 9,269.28.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond jumped 2.7% to 1.65%.
The price of gold decreased 0.5% to $1,569.
The price for a barrel of oil rose 0.7% to $53.49.
HEALTHCARE
Shares in Irvine-based Urovant Sciences Ltd. (Nasdaq: UROV) rose 14% to $13.99 each for a market cap of $421 million. Seekingalpha.com reported earlier today the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company “is a hidden gem with a blockbuster drug likely to be approved this year.” Urovant’s lead asset is vibegron, being developed for treatment of overactive bladders.

Newport Beach-based Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) increased 3.8% to $2.44 per share for a market cap of $500 million. The builder and operator of natural gas fueling stations said earlier in the day its deliveries of Redeem Renewable Natural Gas increased to 143 million gallons last year with “significant deals” closed throughout North America.
