The S&P 500 was off 0.9% to 3,296.9 in midday trading Friday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.7% to 28,971.2, while the Nasdaq fell 0.8% to 9,326.6.
Crude oil slumped 2.6% to $54.17 a barrel.
Gold rose 0.5% to $1,573.20.
The yield on a 10-Year Treasury bond was down 3.1% to 1.69%.
HEALTHCARE
Irvine healthcare software provider NextGen Healthcare Inc. (Nasdaq: NXGN) shares were off 7.4% to $14.74, a day after the company delivered its quarterly results. NextGen updated its guidance for fiscal 2020 with revenue now expected to come in between $541 million to $547 million. This compares with previously stated guidance in the range of $540 million to $550 million. The company had a recent market cap of $965 million.
FINANCE
Banc of California Inc. (NYSE: BANC) was trading down 5% to $16.65 after a B. Riley analyst adjusted his stock recommendation from neutral to sell, a day after the Santa Ana bank reported its quarterly results. Banc of California had a recent market capitalization of $847 million.
